"Welcome to Vista Trail Designs"

So Glad You're Here!

About Me

Hi there! I’m a Wife, Mom and business owner by day, aspiring designer by night. I love Jesus, love to travel and I love making our house a home! My husband and I have 3 boys and 2 big dogs.

I look forward to sharing our home with you!

Room by Room

Welcome to our home!  My goal is to break projects down, room by room, so that it’s simple to navigate when you are looking for something specific!  Our home is a reflection of who we are and where we are at in life.  Enjoy!

Style & Storage

I receive such pleasure from being surrounded by things I love.  One of my favorite things is finding stylish, creative and organizational solutions for our everyday messes.

Menu Monday

Week 2 Good morning!  Where did the weekend go?  This weekend we hosted our 11th Annual Pumpkin Carving Party – more to come on that this week.   Hopefully this will spark some ideas and get you going, don’t forget to comment  with your ideas too.  I know families come from lots of different places. Schedules, food preferences and allergies, priorities.  Our family stays pretty busy during the week with school, church, sports, work, and family time.  It’s a constant balancing act, but one I am so thankful for....

Menu Monday

Welcome to my first Menu Monday!  Woohoo!  In an effort to hold myself accountable to posting more often, and to continue my goals for weekly menu planning I have decided to post my Menu Monday.  Hopefully it will spark some ideas for others, and in comments I will get some fresh new ideas too.  I know families come from lots of different places.  Schedules, food preferences and allergies, priorities.  Our family stays pretty busy during the week with school, church, sports, work, and family time.  It’s a constant...

This fall season I am feeling so grateful.  It has been an interesting  year around our home.  As some of you know, last summer (2011) my husband started a new company.  We were excited and nervous and a little unsure, but knew that this was where God had led our family and Marc’s career.  What we did not anticipate was a flurry of things around our home, conveniences that we take for granted – going OUT.  Not just one, but our dishwasher, the air conditioner in Marc’s car, our...

White dishes 2. Silver pieces 3. Chairs 4. Storage 5. Frames/ artwork 6. Dressers I am always open to other things, but these are the basics. Be Flexible – If I do fall in LOVE with something I can usually find a good place...

Spring Door Decor

Come on in! The weather here is amazing and definitely makes it fun to have people over!  I’m so glad you are here! When I saw this wreath in the Pottery Barn catalogue, I loved it! However, I turned the page and kept going. When I saw this wreath at Knock Off Decor, I took a second glance and decided to try to make it myself! What I liked about it – the white flowers, the simplicity, and the green moss.  I also like that today it says Spring,...

Repurposing Old Lamps

I found these lamps at a yard sale years and years ago.  They have worn several different hats (shades and colors) over the years.  I really love the shape of them and wanted to repurpose them, but they were WAY out of style.  Like many of you, I tend to start a project and then move on to a new one before the first is complete.  Some refer to this as Designer’s ADD.  Anyway, I decided to wait to start on the lamps until I had a vision...

Springtime Mantel

Welcome Spring Spring is a fun time of new beginnings especially in my home!  I enjoy decluttering and freshening things up!  We just had Spring Break, but it went way too quickly and really made me excited for my kids to be home this summer!  In the meantime, I want to enjoy this lovely season and all it brings – our 13th wedding anniversary, Easter, baseball, and soccer! This is a very simple and fairly inexpensive mantel to put together.  I am really enjoying the brighter, fresher look in...

I was wanting something to freshen up my kitchen for spring. I’m trying to decide what I want to do on some bigger projects such as fabric for my curtains, painting my island, and maybe even painting the cabinets. In the meantime, I decided to hang a collection of my favorite plates and a little chalkboard I made last year.   I found the oval plate at Canton last year, the blue and white one from a yard sale,  the Paris plate is from Anthropologie, the red and white...
