Welcome to my first Menu Monday!  Woohoo!  In an effort to hold myself accountable to posting more often, and to continue my goals for weekly menu planning I have decided to post my Menu Monday.  Hopefully it will spark some ideas for others, and in comments I will get some fresh new ideas too.  I know families come from lots of different places.  Schedules, food preferences and allergies, priorities.  Our family stays pretty busy during the week with school, church, sports, work, and family time.  It’s a constant balancing act, but one I am so thankful for.

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine sent out an email asking for menu ideas for the new year.  Several ladies responded and we began compiling a 5 week menu.  This basic structure has helped me not feel like I am always making/ serving the same things over and over.  If I don’t have a menu plan and a list when I go to the store I get into a rut.  I will admint, I am not a big cook.  I enjoy serving my family and saving money, but I also like to go out :)!

I prefer to do my grocery shopping on Sundays when Marc and the kids are watching a game or on Monday once the kids are in school.  A long winded introduction, but here we go…

Monday (Chicken)

– Grilled Chicken, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Broccoli

Tuesday (Tacos/ Mexican)

– Steak Tacos with Cilantro Slaw

Wednesday (our craziest night so quick and easy – make ahead)

– Pulled Pork BBQ sandwiches on Hawaiian Bread

Thursday (Breakfast for Dinner)

– Pumpkin Pancakes with Bacon and Fruit

Friday (Italian)

– Chicken and Bacon Stuffed Pizza

Saturday (Leftovers/ Church)

– Leftovers for lunch

– GO OUT for dinner

Sunday (Waffles for Breakfast, Sandwiches for Lunch and Family Night)

– Waffles for Breakfast

– Turkey, Bacon and Avocado Panninis

– Appetizers and Soups for the Pumpkin Carving Party

So, what are you cooking up this week?  Any ideas for making this more helpful to you??
