grateful

This fall season I am feeling so grateful.  It has been an interesting  year around our home.  As some of you know, last summer (2011) my husband started a new company.  We were excited and nervous and a little unsure, but knew that this was where God had led our family and Marc’s career.  What we did not anticipate was a flurry of things around our home, conveniences that we take for granted – going OUT.  Not just one, but our dishwasher, the air conditioner in Marc’s car, our washer, our front door knob, our garage refrigerator, and the pool pump.  To top it all off...

Springtime Mantel

Welcome Spring Spring is a fun time of new beginnings especially in my home!  I enjoy decluttering and freshening things up!  We just had Spring Break, but it went way too quickly and really made me excited for my kids to be home this summer!  In the meantime, I want to enjoy this lovely season and all it brings – our 13th wedding anniversary, Easter, baseball, and soccer! Picture perfect

I love to have pictures of our family around our home! It’s really my favorite kind of art. I’m sure some people would prefer other things, but it gives me such great perspective to see the way our family changes and sweet memories of time together.  This picture in particular was taken on the side of the pool.  Nothing crazy, but it completely captures Reeder and his fun personality! Several years back I bought black frames, had mats cut and hung pictures. We have enjoyed switching the photos out periodically and in fact, those are still in our home today. However, this time I...

Six tips for Repurposing

Decorating on a Budget Ringing in the new year means so many different things. Resolutions for diet, exercise, decluttering, organizing, cleaning…the lists go on and on. As a list maker, I just can’t help myself. One of the things I enjoy most about taking down the Christmas tree is rearranging and repurposing things that I have. This is a list of some of my favorite things to repurpose during the New Year. Decorating accessories: when I bring out my Christmas decorations I put some of my existing things away to make room. This begins a whole collection of items to repurpose when...
